Texas Top Team was founded by Marcos Santa Cruz Oliveira of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Marcos has devoted his life to Martial Arts and moved to America in 2001. He was the first generation of Professional Fighters of American Top Team, representing them in IBJJF until 2022 where he conquered his World Championship title and became  number one 6 times over. Soon after, Marcos and his business partner opened Texas Top Team and are becoming one of the fastest growing Martial Arts school in Texas.  

Marcos Oliveira, is a former Judo and wrestling competitor, having achieved Brazilian national squad honors in both sports. Professor Oliveira is also a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has conquered important titles such as the Abu Dhabi Jiu Jitsu World Pro and Brazilian National Champion. Among Marcos de Oliveira’s long list of achievements, he is also known as the founder and leader of the Abu Dhabi Top Team, and Texas Top Team, academies with strong ties to American Top Team and GFTeam.


 
 
Marcos Oliveira was born on the 21th of June, 1978 in Santa Cruz – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Santa Cruz started practicing martial arts during his childhood. His father learned judo at the police academy, and soon enrolled his own son in the Japanese art of throwing. Marcos was 9 years old at the time, and immediately started participating in competitions. At the age of 17 Marcos Oliveira received his black belt in Judo. Santa Cruz also crossed over to wrestling  and Jiu Jitsu where he quickly found his way to the Brazilian national squad for 4 years straight. Oliveira moved to America in 2001 and was one of the first generation professional fighters of American Top Team.
 
Marcos Oliveira had established himself as a six-time world champion in Jiu Jitsu and has many accomplishments under his belt. His most recent achievement was conquering the Triple Crown which is winning the 2021 Pan American Championship, 2021 World Masters Championship and 2022 European Championship in Rome.
 
Professor Oliveira's international impact on the Martial Arts Community has been immense and one of his best achievements. He continues to benefit the community and lead students through their Jiu Jitsu Journeys.
